Bringing together an event on the scale of TEDxPerth requires a passionate, dedicated team with a diverse set of skills and experiences.

Our team consists entirely of volunteers united by a belief in the transformative power of ideas. By giving a platform for the Ideas Worth Spreading of Perth's brightest thinker's and doers, we are proud to present a beacon for all that is remarkable, challenging and thought-provoking in Perth.

Joel Miller

Creative Director / Curator

Mechanical engineer. Studied engineering and psychology at UWA. Design won WA Inventor of the Year (2008), finalist on ABC’s “The New Inventors” 2007. Linh Le

Executive Producer

Management consultant and entrepreneur with interests in technology, innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship... and happiness. Recent MBA graduate of Harvard Business School. Galen Townson


Senior manager with 20 years internationally in programs and change. NFP Director since 1999. UWA Executive MBA and Social Impact and Curtin Sustainability alumnus. Sustainability, impact, social enterprise, new economic thinking and renewable energy advocate.

Ian Olszewski

Operations Director

Currently deferred from studying undergraduate medicine at UWA, final year in 2013. Chair of the Australian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA). Convenor of the AMSA National Convention, Perth 2012, the largest medical student conference in the Southern Hemisphere.

Simon Dawkins

Former CEO of Perth Theatre Trust and Canberra Theatre Centre. Inaugural Chair of Playing Australia, the national performing arts touring agency. Former senior policy advisor for the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Current General Manager at the Oil Mallee Association. Warden of Convocation, elected to the UWA Senate. Adjunct Associate Professor at the Curtin University Sustainable Policy Institute.

Meg Delahoy

Operations Director

Project Engineer with more than 8 years experience in development, build and management of temporary site infrastructure; focusing on integrity of live event production and energy resilience. Meg recently joined EMC Engineering, a specialist clean energy company, following her role in energy management with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a project engineer Meg worked onsite on energy infrastructure commissioning, operation and decommissioning at the Olympic Stadium, O2 Arena, Excel Arenas, Hadleigh Farm Mountain Biking and Lee Valley White Water Centre. Former senior marketing manager for Festival of Perth and ScreenWest. Co-founder of Greenwich Productions, a venue management company and leader in programming philosophy and event webcasting. Co-founder/Managing Director of Synergy Group Ltd, event management agency for Cartier Polo and London Fashion Week. Adil and wife (Andrea Horwood) devised and co-founded the global suncare brand INVISIBLE ZINC, wallpaper* magazine’s World’s Best Beauty Product (2006). Co-finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2012). Adil continues to develop innovative natural cosmetics, food supplements and healthcare consumer brands.

Lived in Melbourne, London and Perth. Studied Professional Writing in Melbourne. Worked in television production, marketing and digital media. Currently a Digital Project Manager/Producer and freelance consultant. Loves travel, music, film, books, philosophy, a good conversation, laugh and boogie. Director at Strategic Creativity at Work: innovative programme design. Rachael uses movement and play as tools for learning, from engineers doing improv to sufferers of chronic pain rediscovering wellness. Qualifications in civil engineering, circus and yogic education. Part of the SiiWA advisory team and the WA committee for Pain Week.

Caine Chennatt

Production Manager

Currently focussed on museology and the intersection of business and the arts. Works as a project coordinator at the UWA Cultural Precinct. Interested in enabling education and often involved in education-based projects. Gradually moving towards minimalism and a less-is-more mentality having foregone a television, telephone and Internet at home. Enjoys indoor rock climbing and makes a mean raw vegan chocolate cake.

All-round people person, passionate dragon boat advocate and fitness enthusiast with interests in technology, social media and yoga. At work, focuses on people and technology centric solutions that drive positive organizational change. Hopes to represent Australia at the 2015 World Dragon Boat Championships.

A proud Perth native and advocate, fluent in English, French and Japanese. Studied PR and Advertising at ECU and currently working in Product Development - Cruise (Travel & Tourism) at RAC WA. Two Feet & a Heartbeat Tour Guide and former Tourism WA Project Manager. Represented Australia as a Pavilion Attendant at World Expo 2005 in Aichi, Japan. Badi Bayly


Residing in Perth, Badi Bayly specialises in modelling, movement, travel and architectural photography. A 20 year veteran "Purist Photographer", his style is as simple as it is complex. Foregoing the use of Photoshop for the use of set design, lighting, makeup and costume, Badi's photos are a testament to real people and events.

Danni Chester


A 19-year-old photography student currently studying at the Central Institute of Technology and living in Perth, Danni established her own photography business in April 2013. Including her work as a freelancer, she has worked in the domestic market photographing weddings and portraits. In her spare time she enjoys ballroom dancing as well as writing and playing music.
